4月11日，上海美国中心荣幸邀请到资深记者兼作家Ray Suarez一起深入探讨美国移民经历丰富多彩的故事。Suarez先生利用他作为记者和采访者的背景，穿梭于美国各地，与来自世界各地的新美国人交谈，并在他的新书"We Are Home: Becoming American in the 21st Century, an Oral History" 中记录他们的故事。加入我们，来了解是什么让美国成为“移民之国”。 Join us on April 11th as we delve into the rich stories of the immigrant experience in America with veteran journalist and author Ray Suarez.  As a journalist and interviewer, Mr. Suarez crisscrossed the United States to speak to new Americans from all corners of the globe and record their stories in his new book, "We Are Home: Becoming American in the 21st Century, an Oral History."  Come and learn more about what makes the United States a “Nation of Immigrants”.

嘉宾介绍 About Ray Suarez 

Ray Suarez是公共广播节目和播客On Shifting Ground的主持人，该节目由Commonwealth Club-World Affairs和KQED-FM制作。他的新书《We Are Home: Becoming American in the 21st Century》将于2024年4月由Little, Brown出版，讲述现代移民的故事。 

近年来，他在上海纽约大学和马萨诸塞州阿默斯特学院担任客座教授，曾任约翰·麦克洛伊美国研究客座教授。他毕业于纽约大学和芝加哥大学。

Ray Suarez is the host of the public radio program and podcast On Shifting Ground, produced by Commonwealth Club-World Affairs and KQED-FM. His new book, on the modern era of American immigration, We Are Home: Becoming American in the 21st Century, will be published in April 2024 by Little, Brown. 

In recent years, he has taught as a visiting professor at NYU Shanghai, and Amherst College in Massachusetts, where he was the John McCloy Visiting Professor of American Studies. He is a graduate of New York University and the University of Chicago. 

Earlier in his career, Suarez was host of the daily news program Inside Story for Al Jazeera America, Chief National Correspondent for The PBS NewsHour, and the host of Talk of the Nation from NPR. His recent podcast productions include two seasons of Going for Broke, produced with the Economic Hardship Reporting Project, and The Things I Thought About When My Body Was Trying to Kill Me, from Evergreen Podcasts, about cancer and recovery.
